Bethel is a family whose identity comes from what God has done for believers in the gospel. Our focus is on God’s grace, the redemptive work of Christ, the authority of the Scriptures and the power of the Holy Spirit.

Given the influx of European immigration to Sheboygan county in the 19th century Bethel began as a German Baptist
mission church. Chartered in 1891 many founding members came from the Brandenburg province of Germany. Today the church is comprised of believers from various backgrounds. Worship services were once held at 10th street and Erie
avenue. Today, Bethel seeks to be a Gospel witness from its current location on the city’s south side. The meaning of Bethel is “house of God.” The church is a spiritual house comprised of sinners saved by God's grace. We thank God for His faithfulness for over a century!
